Updates

This past week I have made more dessert than anything else. Cinnamon rolls, lemon bars, cookies, brownies twice. I did try out a new betty crocker dinner recipe yesterday that Ben obviously loved because he wouldn't stop "mmmmm"ing during each bite. Ha. I bought some ingredients at the store that I have heard of but hadn't ever bought. Such as garlic cloves. I know, I have very little experience with cooking. I have made dinner lots, but a lot from boxes and such. So on with my adventure of just trying things out.

Friday night we delivered 4 plates of cinnamon rolls (I didn't know how many the recipe made until about half way through when I realized the dough could barely fit in my mixer. I made like 24 huge cinammon rolls.) It was fun to deliver them though. After we delivered we came back to our house and Brittany and Brayden came over. They all went to get Sean and brought him over too. Poor guy is stuck in his house right now because of his knee. We played ticket-to-ride and had so much fun. We watched 7 pounds after. An ethical dilemma of a story. Very good acting though.

Brittany and Brayden stayed the night and we went to Mimi's cafe for breakfast in the morning for free! Except for tip of course. It was awesome. Ben and Brittany went running after (don't know how they did that since we just ate like 10 lbs of food) and Brayden, Troy and I went on a walk with the stroller. Family is great.

Saturday midday we drove up to Murray to drop Troy off with my mom and we went and saw The Blind Side. (Lots of movie watching this weekend I guess.) I LOVED that movie. We will be buying it and I honestly can't remember the last movie I bought... maybe Ever After? That night Devin, Sarah, Brock, and Melissa came over. I spent a millenium at Smiths getting a redbox movie that Devin had suggested. We had pizza, brownies and icecream. We watched probably one of the more weird movies that I have seen lately, but it was humorous. It was more enjoyable because of the people we were watching it with. I can't remember the name but it had the word Heist in it.

Sunday we went over to Ben's mom's house for dinner.. except Brittany and I made it. Mom is in India right now for work. Pretty cool that she gets to go to all of these places in the world. I must say dinner wasn't the same, but we pulled together a great italian dish. After we made brownies... I tried to look for anything else to make, but that was the only thing that we had the ingredients for. You can always enjoy brownies anyway right?

Yesterday we had a fun family home evening with the Gross family in our ward. A couple that are Ben's age, working, and going to school. We had a beautiful lesson by Ben: "No matter how dark your Friday, Sunday will come" by Elder Wirthlin. We played some new games that they brought over and had cookies and milk. We just play all the time apparently. And consume large amounts of treats. It was a bright week and weekend though. Ben and I set some new goals and it has really lifted the Spirit in our home.

  2. Wow! I'm impressed you're cooking so much! I takes so much time and energy...and more energy to watch Addie and do it at the same time...that I don't cook/bake as much as I should/would like to. Sounds like You're doing really well! What a cute family you have!
