Katelyn is 1 month!

Pregnancy time and new baby time are SO different. Pregnancy seems to last forever and babies grow SO quickly! But we are making sure to enjoy every minute of little miss Katelyn. She is pretty similar to her two week update, but she is much bigger and actually getting some cheeks! Sleeping is good 3/4 time. Grunting is definitely her thing. She is still an angel for me during the day.

The boys love their sister. They want to be by her all of the time.

I just had to take a picture of this. I was feeding Katelyn and I look over and see these little hands taking out the dishes from the dishwasher and organizing them on the counter. Can you spot little Liam's hands? Liam cracks me up. When I am breastfeeding Katelyn, he says,"Baby eating sandwich?"

Devin and Sarah are SO sweet to me. They came and took Troy and Liam on a walk with Jimmer. I really needed it at the time, and it was a blessing. Now when anyone knocks on the door, Liam yells, "Jimmer! Jimmer!"

Have I mentioned that Devin and Sarah are pregnant?!?!? Their 7 year anniversary is in April and so this is a miracle baby. Due beginning of October!! YAYAYAY! 

Grandma Allsop's 80th Birthday

Grandma Allsop and Troy have the same birthday! For Grandma's 80th, the family put together a surprise dinner party at Noah's. Her two sons that live in Vegas both came up for it, including Ben's dad! Dad, Beverly and Ryan came up for the party. They got to meet Katelyn for the first time.

She was SO surprised, it was really fun. Grandpa didn't know about it either, so he was just as surprised!

Troy's 4th Birthday!

Troy turned 4 on Saturday, March 16th!

Saturday was a bit busy, so we celebrated on Friday night with brownies and many presents! It was so fun to have Ben's Dad in town with Beverly and Ryan! Ben's mom, Brittany, Alit, and Brayden were all there as well!

Check out this awesome baseball toy from Ben's mom. It shoots out the balls straight up and then Troy hits them. Both Grandmas were in tune with tball this birthday, the bat is from my mom and the ball shooter is from Ben's mom. Liam was playing with the bat that came with the shooter.

On Saturday morning Troy got to go to an amazing primary activity. He went on a mission to Japan and his Uncle Devin was his mission president (another perk of Devin and Sarah being in the ward.) Troy is very shy and I don't think he would have done it without knowing Devin. They learned Japanese words, ate Japanese food and made those cool hats. Troy is the smallest one next to Devin. Troy is so big to me until I look at a picture like this one.

After the activity we got happy meals for lunch, at Troy's request.

Troy's latest happenings:

I couldn't find my keys and Troy asked, "What happened?" Me: "I can't find the keys!" Troy: "Oh, that is terrible."

Ben took Troy to Wal-mart a few days ago. In the checkout line, there were some girls who were buying beer. Troy pointed to the drinks and yelled for all to hear, "Yucky Daddy! No! Yuck!" How would he know what those are?!

Liam was wearing a shirt with headphones on them and he said, "Mom, those are Brayden's!" Haha, they look like Brayden's Beats.

Troy requested a Christmas song when family was over and Ben thought he would change the words to fit springtime. Troy looked at everyone and said, "Daddy's being silly."

I told Troy he couldn't play the Wii when my mom was visiting and so he went to her and said, "But I want to play the Wii with Grandma!" Haha, very sneaky.

Troy informed me yesterday that Daddy is at work building a pirate ship. So does that make Ben a pirate?

Troy carries around a camera and says that he is taking pictures of Spiderman.

He gets excited about choosing his shirt for the day and actually got excited about clothes for his birthday.

His favorite saying, "Whatchya talkin about?"

If you ask him his favorite color, he will tell you the color of his shirt.

He colors pictures of himself, Liam, and baby Katelyn. He writes his name pretty well. He likes cereal, but not with milk.

Troy is the best big brother and loves his family more than anything. I am very grateful for this little boy sent to our family!

Liam's 2 Year Appt

Mr. Liam had his 2 year appt today. He did NOT like it. I thought Liam would be fine because he's a tough boy, but I was wrong. Apparently, he did not like them touching his ears AT ALL. I tried to hold him down for his shot, but he is very strong and I only have two hands. He ended up hitting the needle as she pulled it out and it cut his leg like an inch long. I finally got him to calm down when I mentioned he could have ice cream after. Haha, this kid LOVES treats like his mama and he was very brave the rest of the time. I was grateful for Troy's help (other than a break down about his stickers not fitting in his pocket.) He pushed Liam in the stroller while I carried Katelyn. It worked out! Katelyn didn't make a peep the whole time. She is truly a gift of peace to me. I'm not saying I'll be going anywhere else with all three for a while, but we did it today!

Katelyn's 2 Week Appt

Katelyn had her 2 week appt when she was 17 days. She is healthy on everything!

Weight: 6 lbs 13.5 oz (9%, but a huge weight gain, since she was only supposed to be 5 lbs 12 oz)
Length: 20.5 inches (58%, a gain of 1.5 inches since birth!)
Head: 36 cm (70%) Following in her brother's footsteps of big heads :)

She loves to lay flat on her back on the ground. She is a grunter. She grunts through the night and anytime she feels uncomfortable. Wakes up 2-3 times a night, but goes back to sleep. She doesn't cry very much. Katelyn is tolerant of her brothers. Liam has bumped her several times and you wouldn't even know it. Tough girl. She takes her binky about half the time. She is getting more used to her car seat. LOVES her bath and cozy pajamas. Katelyn also loves to lay on Ben and fall asleep. Oh we love her!

Family Activities

Our little family has been inside for quite awhile. I didn't want to risk Katelyn getting RSV, so we have stayed home for several weeks. Some before she came, and now 3 weeks since she was born. We are getting creative with our activities. When I run out of activities, the boys start to destroy the house. I'm very ready for Spring :) But we are so happy to have each other to play with!

Fireman coats from Grandma for Christmas. Hat from Aunt Brittany and Uncle Alit. I guess boys enjoy dress up too!

A rotisserie chicken was one of the meals that was brought to us. Liam didn't want to wait for his bowl that Ben was preparing, so he started to eat it like daddy was!

He ate that entire piece in one bite. Very Liam. 

We have been making several fruit loop necklaces. Troy makes the necklace while Liam eats all of his cereal  without noticing that there is a ribbon in front of him. Troy is such a big helper to me. I love that he is old enough to tell me where Liam is or what is happening in the other room when I'm feeding Katelyn. He grabs stuff for me or throws diapers away. He helps keep Liam and Katelyn safe. Both of the boys get very concerned when Katelyn is crying and says, "Help baby sister mom!"

Troy loves to play abcmouse.com. Troy is obsessed with electronics and is very skilled at them. Liam entertains himself with baskets, in between getting out everything in the pantry, fridge, and freezer. Katelyn hangs out in her swing or with mommy most of the time. There are not many safe places to put her that Liam won't run over. I could tell that Liam was antsy to run around, so we went to the church on Friday night and let them run around for about an hour and a half after we got some krispy kreme donuts. Troy is focused on learning what Ben is doing, like dribbling or shooting the soccer ball. Liam is more concerned about exerting as much energy as he can in each move he makes. I'm excited to be more active with my boys again.

Liam is definitely busy, but he is THE happiest little boy. He loves his sister and begged to hold her.

Miss Katelyn had a few rough nights, but last night was better. I love just staring at her when I feed her. It's hard to not be able to help the boys when I'm breastfeeding, but it's nice to just spend time with Katelyn. 

Troy went to church with daddy on Sunday and we discovered that Troy is actually really good when Liam is not there. Toddlers in church are just hard. And Liam is an extra busy toddler. I'm kind of glad for the break of sitting through Sacrament meeting with him. But I also really miss church. It will be interesting to see how it goes with 3 kids!

Katelyn Update!

Katelyn was a sweetheart the second she came! She breastfed immediately after her birth, and there havn't been any problems with that. She also doesn't spit up all of the time!! Hallelujah. (Liam had reflux.) She hardly every cries and does this hilarious grunt if she's uncomfortable. The only hard thing has been her sleeping: She woke up every 2 hours for the first few days home, but we are learning what helps her sleep. Now she can get 3-4 hours of sleep in a row. 

Troy and Liam were instantly excited about their little sister. Troy is very protective and makes sure that Liam doesn't get too close. Haha. He loves to give her kisses and sing to her if she starts to fuss. Liam likes to yell, "Hello!!" right in her face every once in a while. She sleeps right through it, so, she must be used to it
.

I am lacking sleep, but she is so good during the day that I'm getting through it. I am still on the recovery. I have been so grateful for the family and women around me helping. Devin came and slept at our house when we went into the hospital at 1 a.m. and Tyler and Annie came in the morning. My mom watched the boys the rest of the time and stayed with me a few days after. She chased the boys for me, got them ready and searched for their lost toys, over and over. Sweet mom! The RS has brought dinners and it's amazing how helpful food is!! Ben is pretty busy with his work (overtime), his calling and studying for the PE. I'm grateful for the energy he gives us when he's home, because I know he's exhausted. He gets up so early and doesn't have hardly any time to relax at night because he takes care of the boys for me and cleans. I feel like I should be more stressed, but I really feel so happy with my three little ones and the best husband. I was very stressed after Liam was born, and I guess I was just more prepared emotionally this time.

Katelyn was not a fan of the car seat. But once we started driving she was fine.

Troy is the cutest big brother. He tried hard to hold her up ;) I like how Liam is literally diving out of the picture because sitting for 3 seconds is just too hard.

I can't get enough of my little daughter!
