Troy is lookin great. He is switching to milk now and away from the bottle. Any suggestions on that one?! I'm not too excited about taking away the bottle. Apparently he can go to the dentist now. I didn't know that. I was so excited to be able to turn around his carseat in the car, but I guess they recommend not to yet. He's getting kind of tall for it, but it will work for now.
He took his shots like a champ. He cried during them but immediately stopped after and just smiled at all the nurses on the way out. He is truly Ben's child. As for milestones, he can pick cheerios up with two fingers, bang blocks (pans) together, drink from a cup, feeds himself, and walks around tables by himself barely holding on. He doesn't wave bye-bye, and he doesn't point at things. He will stare at it until you get the hint, like when he drops something, but no pointing. All fun things to come. It will be fun to have Tyler here to see him progress. He gets to meet him in 3 weeks!
Already One! So fun. So I don't know if you asked your Dr. but both my kids weren't quite the 20 lbs yet at one. But the Dr. said that its O.K. to turn them around because its more the muscle control etc. than really the weight. So if he's tall, you might want to ask if you haven't. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks Charity I'll look into that!
ReplyDeleteI loved finally turning Noah around, and so did he. As far as the bottle goes, I kind of took my time and he didn't give it up completely until abour 16 months. He only had one a day it that. But I think the longer I held onto it the more attached he got, so I wouldn't recommend dawdling. But just take it away a little bit at a time I guess.
ReplyDeleteWe need to hang out real bad! Whats your schedule look like? lets plan something!
The milk thing... just keep at it. Try offering it to him at meals or anytime he would have a bottle or whatever. He'll probably get it eventually. I nursed Nathan until he was like 14 or so months, until he would drink cow's milk. Don't rush or worry about it too much. I would probably stay away from sweetening his milk just so he would drink it (like chocolate or strawberry). That might get him too used to sweet and he'll never try/like regular milk very much. Nathan loves regular milk now.
ReplyDeletethe dentist already? my doc. told me that tyler can now start going because he's 3! I didn't know they started so early. I say save your money. Also, we always turn our kids around a little early. They always weigh way more, and are pretty strong, and they love it.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I agree with your doctor on the carseat thing. I am a carseat technician and help with carseats and primary's and other places throughout Utah. In some european countries it is actually law that they can't be forward facing til age 2 (which I think is a little over the top). Especially since you said he had a "big head" it would be a good idea to keep him rear facing for a bit longer. If you have questions about it shoot me an e-mail or call any time.
