Troy is 1 Today

March 16. You are one today. One year ago you shocked daddy and I. I tried to tell daddy to go to class because I thought it was nothing, but Grandma made sure that I went to the hospital instead. Good thing I did because you were comin fast. You were so tiny and could hardly drink any milk. I would just stare at you forever. I had never seen anything so precious in my life. Daddy would have stared at you longer but he had to go get a carseat at the store or we wouldn't have been able to leave the hospital! We were not prepared at all. But we were so glad that you were healthy. You did have jaundice and I hated that aweful bilibed. I couldn't hold you and that is all I wanted to do. Now I can hold you all the time, if you will let me. Here you are in the hospital not too long after you were born. So handsome, just like your dad.

Now you are 1!! Here you are with your first birthday cake! You smile so well for the camera now! You had fun with your cake today. You would pick up the frosting with two fingers like you would a cheerio. Uncle Devin ended that quickly and smashed both your hands in it. You just tried to clean it off with your mouth. You were very clean until you got kind of tired and rubbed it all over your face and hair. It was sure funny to watch!

You bring everyone together and the room is such a joy with you in it.

I can't believe how well you are standing now! You havn't taken any steps but you are trying to climb back down the stairs with some success. All day today you would laugh as I held up my finger and said, "You're one!" Everyone would do it to you and you thought it was so funny. You even held your finger up to mine and did the same thing. Such a quick learner.

Daddy and I love you so much. Daddy put up a bunch of decorations (streamers and birthday signs) early this morning so that you could see them right when you got up. You are the joy in our lives and we love the spirit that you add to the home. You are so pure and sweet. We just love you so, so much.
