Fun Filled Weekend

Dad and Bev visited us this weekend and it was a blast. They got in Friday night. Brayden and Brittany came over as well. We had fun talking and laughing at youtube videos. I can never get enough of "evil eye" baby. Saturday we went skiing at the Canyon Resort. It was a beautiful day to go skiing with all of the powder, but it got kind of cold towards the end. Ben found some competition moguls and had such a blast on them. Dad hadn't skiied in 8 years, but still looked like a pro. Brayden has zero fear and will go faster than any of us dare except for Dad of course. Brittany and I were conservative but had SO much fun. While we were skiing, Troy was hanging out with Grandma (my mom) and was an angel for her. I never worry when he is with her.

That Saturday night we went to dinner at Maglebys for Brittany's birthday. Ben and I had never been there and we were very impressed. Plus Dad likes to talk to the waitors and managers like he has known them for years. It makes us all laugh and makes it such a fun experience. Troy was a sweetheart during dinner. He did find it fun to drop his toys on the ground and then stare at them as if to say, "Huh, there is my toy. I wonder when daddy will pick it up for me. Maybe if I stare at it he will find it easier." Troy loved Maglebys too. He got to try the yummy bread and different appetizers.

Sunday we went to church at nine and had such a good experience in church. It was so nice to have more family with us. Church is always a good experience, but it is magnified with loved ones. We felt the spirit so strong in our meetings and it was just so wonderful having them there. We were pretty hungry when we got home and Troy was about to explode if he didn't get a nap. He fell asleep on the way home (about a 1.5 minute drive) and we started making a feast of a lunch. We had turkey sandwiches with everything imaginable on them. I'm not sure how Dad fit his into his mouth :) Ben made german pancakes. We had a bunch of fruit and yogurt out. I also made Ritz crackers with PB and honey on them. We just ate for like an hour. Our stomachs were still stretched from the night before when we ate more than I have seen a group eat in a long time. Skiing makes you so hungry.

Such a fun weekend. Dad and Bev left around two o'clock. After Ben went home teaching we went to Mom Allsop's house to celebrate Brittany's birthday over there. We always enjoy our time over there. Brayden is so good with Troy. They both have tons of energy, so it is a good match :)

Here are some pics during the weekend..

This is my favorite picture. They are laughing because Dad does this little trick with Troy. Troy doesn't like to face you, ever. So when you do make him face you he pushes against your chest and turns himself around. Dad likes to do it over and over again and Troy thinks it is so funny.

  1. I love the way you write and you always find ways to bare your testimony. Thanks for that example Char! You are amazing! Sound like things are good for you guys. Fun to see pictures of pappa Allsop and Beverly. I'm glad you had a good time with them. I keep thinking of so many questions for you. I think I just need to call you...love you! I dreamed we lived in Italy and you guys and Kitchens came to visit us! Loved seeing you, even if it was only in a dream!
