Liam's 6th Birthday

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET LIAM

Two years ago, Troy had a big birthday party when he turned 6. His birthday was the last day of spring break, so we had lots of time to have fun with it. Little did I know that I was starting a tradition of "the 6th birthday party." Liam was SO excited. He couldn't pick a theme, there were too many good ones to choose from. I saw an obstacle course on pinterest for Mario Brothers, Liam's favorite Wii game. Obstacle course screamed  "Liam" to me. It was also our Halloween Costumes in October, so I knew I had some stuff already.

I took most of my pictures before everyone arrived for OBVIOUS reasons. Pinterest is my best friend when planning for a party. Loved these ideas from different mamas.

The Crew : Evelyn, Tiago, Nathan, Michael, Katelyn, Matthew, Liam, Josh,
Kate Mansfield, Troy, and Seb.

First, they went through the "green tube" to get to each "level."

Yoshi Egg HUNT - They had to find the gold (chocolate) coins inside the eggs.

Bowser's Castle : Don't touch the ghosts!

Stomp on the skeletons : they had to pop a balloon. I didn't grab a before picture, so here is a picture of an "after popped" skeleton. I drew 13 of those skeletons and 7 ghosts. Woo. Liam was so impressed. Haha.

I used Troy's decorations from two years ago and transformed them from legos into Mario. That flag even moves up and down! Faaaancy.

Before we went outside I had to snag another pic. They were patient-ish.

Run through the piranha plants - Defeat bowser in the tramp with fireballs.
It was windy and I worried if they would stay in the ground. But it was perfect to make it more difficult for the kids to run through without getting touched.

Liam was first! He doesn't have to go to the bathroom, he just does that pose sometimes! ;)

Beat the level! Liam sang the theme music. Of course. Hahahahaha.

Time for presents. Everyone was so generous. Liam felt like he was the luckiest kid in the world.

Pizza/Snacks/Treats

Miles spent most of the time watching the craziness in daddy's arms, but I got this at the end. He has never been a fan of being left alone.

I can't get enough of our Liam. He loves kindergarten and has earned several treasure box items (after the rough patch of the first week.) Liam loves making friends and plays with whoever is around. Liam is easy-going, loves to laugh, and makes sure he gets lots of hugs from mama. Although dad is the preferred play mate. Liam is quick to give. He has given me two of his treasure box items, often colors things specifically for Katelyn, always runs to Miles at the slightest whimper, and will give up a toy so that Troy won't be sad. Liam is competitive and does NOT like to lose on the Wii. But has learned how to make sure they play different games so that it doesn't happen. Liam is a good communicator - if he's not tired/hungry. He is half way through level 1 in Piano Adventures and gets very excited to play forte. When he plays staccato, his fingers jump pretty high. He is working on patience during practice (aren't we ALL?) Liam is overall an amazing son and brother. There are many days when I thank Heavenly Father for sending him to our family. Love you Liam.

  1. I am glad there was no pinterest in the olden days when my kids were little. No pressure....and they were just glad I made a cake.
