Miss Katelyn did not expect a lot for her birthday. She was simply excited for a pink box cake, pink balloons, and purple wrapped presents. Haha. Grandmas and Grandpas are so sweet to spoil her.
She actually had a hard time with all of the attention. She loses her will to speak when she's embarrassed.
But when everyone stops looking at her, she enjoys her gifts for many days! She is wearing her new swim suit and golden sparkle shoes. She still carries around her "my little ponies."
Katelyn is slowly warming up to people. Evidence in this picture with our neighbor, Alex. Alex is so sweet to Katelyn and is always trying to make her happy. She has been patient with Katelyn's varying responses (whining, ignoring, occasional smile.) But her persistence has paid off and Katelyn finally accepts her attention with smiles!
For some reason, I love Katelyn's face when she wakes up, even though her hair is quite the sight.
I have been attempting to braid Katelyn's hair. I also paint my toe nails because she wants me to. I've held off on my fingers though. They distract me when I'm playing the piano. That sounds like a silly reason when I write it down, but it's true. Katelyn brings me necklaces to wear and I let her wear some of them. She is truly "girly" and I'm excited for her to bring it out in me.. slowly... :)
