I can't believe Troy is 7. He is growing too fast. He definitely feels much older this year. He is a huge help to me and such a sweet boy.
He is wearing his new birthday clothes from Grandma Allsop in the top left.
His much awaited card from Grandma. Troy has a greater understanding of birthday cards and money this year ;)
Just an example of Troy. He will help Katelyn whenever she needs it. He's putting her shoes on.
He got bath toys from Aunt Annie. They have been absolutely loving them. The bath colors and the tubes. They play for a long time in there now. I even clean the bathrooms while they bathe.
Troys favorite toys are still legos. He builds them pretty fast now. He also got a few more sets that are not pictured. Grandparents spoil this boy! He loves it so much.
Troy got to go to a Harry Potter themed birthday party for Mackenzie. I introduced him to Harry Potter after he got home. I realized it was his first real movie, not animation, and he was so amazed at how they could really walk through walls and really fly. It is so fun seeing him experience everything. I had to tell him that we couldn't actually buy a broom like that. Haha.
- Troy is 44 lbs and 46 inches. Tall and skinny is what they said. Shocker.
- He hasn't lost any teeth, until we went to the dentist last week. They pointed out to me that his two bottom middle adult teeth were already breaking through. We had to pull his baby teeth that were in the way the following Monday. He finally got to discover the tooth fairy.
- Troy loves to talk, about everything. He could go on and on. I love listening to him. It takes him a little while to sort out his thoughts, but I love watching his mind work.
- He is doing well in 1st grade and has progressed the most in reading. We started reading the Magic Tree House books together. It has helped a lot. He finally cares about understanding what he is reading, and who is talking.
- Troy has have difficult time not whining. It's probably the only thing I really get after him about. I need to be more positive with him about it. This poor kid gets so many of my "first child - I'm figuring this out." Luckily, he is so forgiving.
- Troy is in tune with others feelings and sensitive to them. Especially mine. If I am frustrated, he will come and hug me. He won't say anything, he will just hug me. He's also very sensitive about messing up or doing the wrong things. If he has been whining, I'll get after him about it and he will admit, "I know. I just don't know how to stop!" Sounds like me.
- Troy is on level 2b books in Piano Adventures. He is going to play the Star Wars theme for the recital. He's very excited about it.
- Swim team in May. He's going to be behind the other kids who have been doing it previous years, but I know he will try hard. He still loves soccer the most and plays in our back yard with the neighbors. Our soccer goal is a big hit in the neighborhood.
I couldn't have asked for a better first child. Troy is amazing. We love him SO much.
