Liam is 5!

Liam was very excited to turn 5. And we absolutely love celebrating him.

He was ecstatic to find mail just for him from Grandma Jana.

Liam chose mac n cheese for dinner and cupcakes with "sprinkle frosting."

He was spoiled by all of his great gifts. He immediately built the star wars ship from Grandma Allsop.

Thanks to the Millett's, Liam fell in love with these transformer dinosaurs. They are pretty cool.

One of his new outfits.

With his money from Grandma Jana, he bought sunglasses and a star wars blow up punch bag.

Liam is looking more and more like Ben did as a little boy. Handsome guy :)

A little about Liam...

  • He weighs 42 lbs and is 44 inches. 2 lbs and 2 inches shorter than Troy.
  • He loves to laugh. Especially at Troy and Daddy. He has the cutest, most genuine laugh.
  • He is my messiest child when it comes to food. BUT he will eat whatever I give him and say, "This is great mom! Right?" Thank heavens for this boy.
  • He loves to sing, and mainly sings primary songs. He has an amazing memory. You tell him something once, he will remember.
  • His quick learning ability has helped in piano. I wouldn't have started him so early, but he really wanted to. He is about half way through his first books. I've been most impressed by his ability to actually have good technique in his fingers. He can't play very long before he loses focus and starts making stuff up on the piano. Chaotic improvisation ;) But he always looks forward to playing the piano and is very proud of himself. His favorite song right now is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

  • Liam and Troy will start swim team next month. When I told him about it, he said, "No mom!! I don't want to today!" I clarified that it would be in May. "Oh, ok. I'll do it then." This kid can switch his emotions on and off like a switch. He can be so angry one second and totally fine the next. We have needed it in this house :)
  • Liam was the first to figure out I was pregnant. From very early on, he would touch my belly and say, "Hi, baby." We actually didn't tell the kids for another 2 months after he started saying that. He is SO excited to meet this baby boy and talks about how many months are left. It's gunna be awhile bud.
  • Liam loves preschool and is very ready for kindergarten in the fall. I register him soon.
  • A few weeks ago, a few kids started picking on Liam at the park. Ben started to walk over when he saw it. The older kid started to push Liam a little, and Liam punched him in the face. This is not unusual for Liam. If he feels threatened or scared, he will hit. The older kid didn't really react, other than in shock. I keep trying to teach him to come get me instead. I think Ben was more proud that his son can protect himself.
Liam brings a joy to me every day that I couldn't have imagined. He makes me feel so loved and appreciated, but also keeps me on my toes of how to be a parent. We love our Liam.
