Troy's 6th Birthday

Troy is 6! Wow. Suddenly that seems like a big number.

Our Troy boy has been very into legos and requested a lego birthday party. The first friend birthday party in our home! We had all of spring break to plan it, so we went a little nuts with the cut outs and games because we had time to do them together. Troy loved making lego faces on the cups and games.

Cheapest lego food ever. And loved by kids. I had fruits/veggies planned and then I forgot about them. So.. we had a sugar high. And might I point out, there are edible legos on the cupcakes. We have a party store near us and they had edible legos. How could I resist? I sent the rest home in the goodie legos. You can actually build with them.

We colored lego men.

Played lego bingo with legos as the pieces. Once they all got bingo, we took the legos off and made creations! Master builders! (Lego movie quote)

Pin the lego head on the lego guy. I think one kid barely touched the paper. Haha.

Gift time! Troy's favorite part. He's been occupied for days.

I thought these would be a cute idea and ended up taking a ton of cutting. They did turn out cute, but my hand was sore from cutting. Probably bags next time. We are all allowed to go crazy sometimes right?!

Troy gave a talk the day before his birthday. It was his first talk. Ben helped him write it and Troy read it all on his own. It was about Prophets. It was a great parenting reward moment.

At Troy's school, they have a tradition of bringing cupcakes on their birthday. They are not allowed to have them in school, so we have them after lunch at recess. Troy was so excited and loved the attention, even though he doesn't act like it. Liam and Katelyn mostly loved the cupcakes. Haha.

We went to the doctor for Troy and Liam's yearly appointments.

Troy is 41 lbs and 44 inches - about 30-40%. I don't have the sheet in front of me.

Liam was 38.5 lbs and 41 inches. About 70% for both.

They are both about the same as last year for %.

I'll have to write about Troy more later when I have more time, but I just have to say that he is just getting better and better. He is becoming more independent and confident. He's becoming more original with his ideas (drawing and legos) and being a good big brother. We love our Troy boy!
