Oh Liam

It has been pretty hard the last couple weeks because Liam seems to want to cry all the time in the evening. He won't go to sleep unless we hold him forever, but still wakes up if we put him down. We've let him cry to sleep a bunch, but sometimes he just cries for a really long time. Occasionally, holding him doesn't even work. Yesterday was like this ALL day. I held him in a carrier, because that helped a little, while I cooked dinner, did laundry, and other things. My shoulders were killing by the end of the day.

On a more positive note, both my boys are doing amazing today. Liam has been laying on the ground, quiet, for 45 minutes now. This has NEVER happened for more than 5 minutes. Troy adores Liam and thinks he is so funny any time he makes a noise, looks his direction, or kicks. Troy has a hard time getting across what he wants sometimes, but he is such a good big brother and I'm so grateful for that trait right now. He is patient with me and Liam during his crying spats. Sometimes I can't believe how good Troy is for me when I need it the most. That's the best I can do at trying to make this glass half full :)

  1. Keep looking at the glass half full and let those little boys continue filling it. Before you know it they will be off on missions.

  2. oh charlotte that was exactly my life with Brynlee. She had colic and did nothing but cry ALL the time. Get some gripe water, it helps a little tiny bit, but certainly won't take it away. I felt the same way with Tyler being patient with her, like Troy is with Liam. It must be a second child thing haha. Good luck! We had one heck of a time with her for about 4 months then she grew out of it.

  3. The gripe water that I like is called, Mommy's Bliss. You can get it behind the Pharmacy counter at Walmart. I had a week where Marion was doing the same thing. Not getting much sleep doesn't help, huh?

  4. I am so sorry! Do you use a baby carrier at all? I have a Mei Tai baby carrier and it was a lifesaver when I had to multitask holding the baby with other things.
