Happenings

Labor Day weekend was a "get caught up" weekend. We sanded, caulked, and painted our molding and windows on our main floor. It has been this never ending project because we can't seem to punch it out in one day or two or even three. We still have to do some touch up painting, but it looks really good. Our windows now look like white, beautiful boxes. We bought a new vacuum. Our old one had a broken handle. It required a lot of hunching over the vacuum. We went food storage shopping. Ben's idea. I've been thinking about it forever and I'm so glad Ben just wanted to get it done. We just bought a ton of non-perishable food that we already have. We made sure to buy things that we already eat on a regular basis. We still have a long way to go but it feels good to get started.

Ben took me to Mimi's Cafe for our date because I love breakfast for dinner. Mimi's breakfast is the best in my opinion. Poor Ben couldn't taste ANYthing. Literally. He would dip a french fry into syrup rather than ketchup and he couldn't taste the difference. His rootbeer tasted like club soda. Gross. He couldn't taste because he had gone wake boarding that morning with some guy neighbors of ours on this huge boat. Ben got too daring and took some pretty hard falls. He could barely move his head that night because he said it felt like his brain was detached. I think we might need to buy him a helmet. Plus he got tons of water up his nose from barefooting.

On Saturday we watched the first BYU football game. We love BYU football. Ben went to the game and Troy and I went to Ben's mom's to watch it. Go Cougars! We also watched some of the Boise state game on Monday night. That was one of the most intense games ever. We don't really watch anything besides BYU football but Ben was rooting for Boise (he lived there for a while and played football on the blue field.) Go Boise. They proved their talent to me at least.

We recently painted mom Allsop's garage floor and cleaned out the whole garage. It looks so much better. Now we just need to do our own, but I'm in no hurry to paint again.

Troy has recently decided he is going to let me know when he is ready for a nap by taking his blanket off his bed and bringing it into the room I am in. He then lays down on it. It's really cute. He also loves dogs and cats lately. He laughs so hard when they run around or come close to him.

I have been spending most of my free time (Troy's daily nap) doing continuing eduction credits for my nursing license. I want to be done this month so that I don't have to worry about it. I love reading the information but I get pretty tired when I have been really focusing. I love nursing though.

  3. I love reading about what you guys are up to! Way to go on getting food storage, that's what we've been doing lately too and I agree that it feels so good to know you're prepared and doing what we've been asked to do.
How come you still have to take classes for nursing? I don't know how it all works, but I thought you were done once you passed the test and everything?
