Katelyn (20 months) - Dorothy
Liam (3 1/2) - Iron Man
Troy (5 1/2) - Captain America
We had super hero practice before we went trick or treating. Best videos ever.
Our ward halloween party and trunk-or-treat was really fun. Ben is over the teacher's quorum and they did a cake walk. Our kids loved this one.
Troy tried for quite awhile and never won. So, Liam got back in, won immediately and then "gave" (I just let Troy go up) his cupcake to Troy. That's what happens when you let teenage boys be in charge of the cake walk. ;)
The young women were doing face painting. Lexy is doing Troy's face. She is our neighbor and has babysat for us. Morgan is on the right and has also babysat for us. She lives on our street as well. I LOVE our street. And these girls are fantastic. They are so sweet to these kids and I love talking with them.
Ben was helping clean up inside the church while we did the trunk or treat. Katelyn figured it out quickly and played her part of smiling and saying "twee". She was so little and cute that most people would just give her a handful instead of just one. She would not let go of that bucket for anything. Troy and Liam had huge smiles on their faces the whole time. Halloween is so magical for children. ENDLESS candy. I remember the feeling.
I went out trick or treating with the kids while Ben stayed home to hand out candy because I love experiencing it with the kids. I quickly discovered that the dad's do that in our neighborhood. I was the ONLY mom. It was fine and I enjoyed myself. But, it looks like Ben will be doing that next year. I need to get him into the halloween spirit! Here are the kids after we went. They had SO much candy in their buckets that they didn't hold them the last 20 minutes, and I didn't blame them. I put them on the stroller. We were with a group, so that's why we kept going. I love having neighbors to go with!
Favorite candy this year: Troy - Suckers, some chocolate. Liam - Suckers, candy. Katelyn - suckers, suckers and more suckers.
