Ben took me on a date the night before to the Utah Symphony by the waterfall at Thanksgiving Point. It was spectacular. They even had fireworks afterwords, right above us. I was a little afraid of the floating ashes... but it was really fun.
We started out the 4th early in the morning with the Freedom Run 5k. It was awesome! I got 23:50. It was okay. I die on the hill at the last mile. I don't remember Ben's, but he runs in the 6 minute range. He didn't even train. I hope that athleticism passes on to our kids.
We decided not to go to the parade when we got back. A parade with Liam sounds a little like a nightmare. So we took it easy until we went up to Layton. Ben's cousin, Chris, has a beautiful house with LOTS of toys. Troy and Liam were in heaven.
We had SO much good food. Christ kept giving Ben yummy meat from the grill. Check out this meal he had: 3 Hamburgers (big ones), a chicken breast, a hot dog, and steak!! Oh my, he was full.
We played dodgeball, and I loved talking with all of the family. It's a really fun family. We left home when it was time to go to fireworks. We put the kids down at Ben's moms and watched from the roof. She lives up against the mountain, so we could see the whole valley of fireworks. It was spectacular.
