Fun in the Mud

So, it's ironic that Liam decided to play in the mud right after I was reading a friend's blog about letting your kids play. I am not one to go play in the mud. So, after Liam found a mud puddle while I was on the phone, I was frustrated and thought about all of the clean up that now had to happen. It took me a second to let the message from the blog come to my mind, and I proceeded with apologies and let them go at it. Troy doesn't actually like getting dirty, but Liam is all about it.

Our sweet neighbor, Charnae, decided to join us and Charnae did not mind letting her daughter play in the mud. It didn't bother her one bit. Why am I so silly  sometimes!?

It's hard to tell, but they got super muddy from head to toe. I decided to spray their clothes off with the hose before I put them in the tub.

Thanks Charnae and Melissa K. for reminding me to let my kids play!

On another note, I made THE most heavenly chocolate cake on the planet. The recipe is from Our Best Bites blog. It was a lot of work, but I made it for my sister-in-law, Sarah's, birthday dinner at my parents on Sunday. It reminded Ben and I of the cake on Matilda. The picture of the cake is on Ben's phone, but picture a double layered, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. If it were not so expensive and so much work, I would probably make it tomorrow. Actually... I might make it again anyway. Yum.
