Lake Powell

This is Troy in the boat the night before we left to Powell. He's pretty excited! But not as excited as Daddy! I was really excited but I was a little worried how Troy would do..

He did pretty well as long as he was in the driver's seat :) One hand on the wheel, the other on the gas.

The first morning was spent exploring because it was Sunday. Troy woke up at 5:45 so we ate some breakfast and took him up the rocks and planned our Sunday "lesson." We were in charge this year. We did it on Tender Mercies and I couldn't have been more pleased with the thoughts shared.

Troy loved the rocks but sometimes found the camera the most interesting.

This was our view.

This was Troy's absolute joy. To just let him go roaming on the rocks. He would crawl like an ape so that his knees didn't touch.

Monday through Saturday were spent mostly skiing, wake boarding, eating, air chairing, tubing, eating, swimming, playing games, hiking, and eating some more. Ben did barefoot once. There wasn't a lot of opportunities for him to do it but it is always entertaining to watch him. Ben improved a lot on the wakeboard and loved having smooth water for skiing. I'm sure he improved but it's hard to tell because he is already laying on the water and going lightning speed. He is the most entertaining water skiier. Everyone loves to be on the boat so they can just watch him ski.
I definitely improved in skiing but also learned the faster you go the harder the face plant. Ha. It was SO much fun though. I'm starting to see why Ben loves it so much. The whole family did really well skiing and improved for sure. Brittany got a lot better on the air chair.

Ben always took the time to swim with Troy. Troy didn't like swimming at first because it was so cold but Ben would get him used to it by holding him close and showing him how to splash. Troy immediately fell in love with splashing rediculous amounts. His last two baths at home have been quite the water show.

Here is Devin air chairing. He always looks in pain when he is behind the boat but he smiles when he's done! This puppy is hard to get up on but fun once you get up.

Card playing was a good way to pass the time between boat trips. A lot of junk and pop was consumed at this table. Ben and I only drank water! But we liked the chips and sweedish fish a lot. :)

Sarah is a quick learner at the water sports. I guess I got this picture right after water hit her face or something. Hilarious! We loved having Devin and Sarah there!!

Here is Ben and I in "the crack." I know that's a weird name but there is this crack between two giant walls that you can climb into and it's like being in a refigerated house with a floor of sand as thin as flour.

Boating is so much more fun with more family.

Cute Brayden and Ben. They are buds. Troy looks like he is going to be sick, but he is really just falling asleep. Anytime we went on a boat ride that was a little longer, he would fall asleep. Sweet little guy.

Ben getting awesome air on the little wake of the boat.

Beautiful family picture. We love our family and had SO much fun. Lake Powell is awesome.
*Pictures I don't have yet are : Each person skiing, but we have video. The double tubing where the boys would jump on each other's tubes while the boat was going fast! No injuries luckily, just headaches. Troy just standing in his crib admiring the sceneary around him. He would only cry a couple of minutes before looking around and then fall asleep.
Devin brought his frisbee of course. They played a game of jumping off the rock to catch the frisbee. But there were 8 boys going for the same frisbee. Still no injuries, amazingly enough.
The stars were beautiful at night, of course. I really appreciated God's creations this trip. He sure made things beautiful.
