We left on Friday to visit Ben's dad in Vegas. Brittany came with us and Brayden was already there. The first night Beverly made us Swedish meatballs that were amazing. Then we went to bed kind of early because 1. Ben had a 5k he was racing in the morning and 2. Troy did NO sleeping on the way down. He was a good boy though, so no complaints.
In the morning we got up early to go to Ben's race. He got third out of the whole pack! They gave him a medal and 15 bucks. I have to add that the guy who got first ran in college and coaches now. Ben met his goal of running under 18 minutes (which he feels is slow..but I disagree.) He wants to cut each mile time down by at least 15 seconds for the Freedum Run. After the run we went to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. Oh that is THE best breakfast place. We sat at this huge round table that honestly could have been King Arthur's. The food was to die for as always. Troy is a big fan of french toast.
The rest of the time we went swimming a lot in their backyard pool. They made it so beautiful back there with all the trees and fountains that it looks like a resort. Troy loved swimming of course. Although, he was most excited about their two dogs this trip. Usually dogs just run up to Troy and try to lick him but these dogs actually tried to stay away from him. He would just follow them around and laugh when he got close. I showed him how to pet the smaller one and Troy would just laugh and burrow his head into my shoulder as if he were shy or something. Sunday we went to church and was taught about patience and obedience. The man who spoke had so much passion. It built me up just to hear him talk about his experiences.
I forgot quite a bit of things this trip. I had to run a quick errand for Tyler right before we left and so I didn't get to go through my checklist and thus I left things that I was planning on grabbing last minute. Such as wipes, Troy's swimsuit, Ben's belt, pajamas, and many other things. Luckily this was a short trip and I won't make that mistake again. Pictures to come!
