Florida here we come!!

We (Ben, Troy, Mom Allsop, Brittany, Brayden, and I) leave to Orlando Florida tomorrow!!! It is a 9 day trip. We are spending a couple of days at the beach. Two days at DisneyWorld, two days (maybe more) at Universal Studios (Adventure Land), and going to the Kennedy Space Center. We did not take any vacations during the summer and we are ready for one. Even though I feel like every night is a vacation ever since we graduated. Yay for no homework!

I'm so excited to be with Ben all the time for over a week. We have not done that forever. I am a little worried about Troy on the plane... Does anyone have some wisdom to give me? Please?!

  1. I was super worried about taking Dougie on his first plane but some people didn't even know that we had a baby with us! He was a champ. So, maybe Troy will be the same. I had a few toys and books, plus I nursed and had pumped bottles prior to ready for him if he got hungry. I also had him suck on his pacifier prior to the plane taking off and during the flight as much as possible so that his ears didn't pop. And..the biggest thing was I said a lot of prayers. :) Good luck! What a fun place, I love Orlando.

  2. Don’t be afraid to breast feed him on the plane. We flew to Texas when Cade was Troy’s age. I fed him the moment the plane took off and he would sleep most of the way there. I also didn’t let him take any naps until we were on the plane. If all else fails give him a ritz like your husband did. Just make sure that it is the low sodium kind. Good luck

  3. We went to Orlando last summer when Nathan was only 3 months old! (haha it was planned even before I found out I was pregnant!) Just let him suck on something while you're taking off/landing i.e. pacifier, you, etc. It really does help. Nathan really didn't have a problem at all. Good luck and have fun!

  4. ooh fun fun! I have never been to disneyworld and all those fun places so i hope you have a blast! I'm sure you guys will do great on the plane with Troy. Like everyone else said, just have him nurse, or suck on something while you're taking off/landing. It'll calm them down and help with ears. Be safe!

  5. I am so jealous! That sounds so fun.

Troy will be fine--it is the screaming two year olds you worry about ;).
